The Scandinavian airline company SAS account department has saved resources, by using Adra Match Accounts. The color pens are distant memory and the reconciliations that once took several hours of each working day are done considerably faster. In my department we have about 500 bank accounts to reconcile in one of about 40 daughter companies and we realized for a time ago that we were forced to implement some form for atomization in connection with our reconciliations, explains Suzanne Wester, accountant at SAS.
Suzanne Wester's department – the one that is responsible for the commercial accounts – is one of the three that use Adra Match Accounts. The department that deals with financial transactions is another and the third is the one that is responsible for bookkeeping reconciliations. The three different departments meet different sets of challenges. One has few transactions, but large amounts, whilst another has numerous but smaller transactions to reconcile. Now we have started using the system in a new way. We are using a file form a suspense account and reconcile it in Adra Match Accounts. This is one of the best sides of the software, it is so flexible and can be adjusted to every different departments needs. This has changed our work situation radically and provided more time to ensure the quality of the reconciliation. We are now able to use our time to other things than to manually compare transactions against each other. The five persons that handle about 40 different companies should be considerable more without reconciliation software.
